artist statement
My work is an exploration of the intersection between nature and the complexities of the human experience. Through painting, photography and sculpture I create vivid, intimate representations that delve into themes of mental health, sexuality, and the delicate beauty of life and death. Nature-based imagery is central to my practice, as it offers a visual language that is both raw and poetic, mirroring the human condition in all its fragility and strength.
Laden with color, texture and narrative in my paintings embody a sense of transformation. These representations of natural elements are infused with layers of personal and collective experience, where emotions, struggles, and triumphs are woven into the landscape of the psyche. Vibrant, chaotic, grotesque; always dynamic and full of life.
Through photography, I capture symbols of beauty and decay, emphasizing the ephemeral nature of existence. I create work that both challenges and empowers, inviting viewers to reflect on their own identities, struggles, and the shared beauty of our collective humanity.
At its core, my work examines transformation through conversation and exchange; how we move through pain, love, loss, and growth. It embraces the complexity of being alive, finding beauty in moments of darkness while acknowledging the quiet presence of memento mori: a reminder that life is fleeting and that meaning emerges within its impermanence.
